After my DIY post last Tuesday, I realized I truly wanted to post at least once a week. I understand I have absolutely no organization to my blog or it's theme, but I think this has potential to actually become something... No, not become that "trendy" little blog, but proof to myself that I am more than a potato in a world of carrots. I just want to be good at something... So, the excuses stop now.
No more sleeping in,
No more avoiding exercise,
No more treating my family like crap,
No more shutting out my friends,
No more waiting,
No more, no more, no more.
I want to be that person that everyone wants to be around. I want to be the person who people spontaneously call up for random activities. I want to change!
My health has slowly become my enemy... But the worst part is, I did this to myself. I made excuses. Now playing with a hula hoop for twenty minutes with my little sister is exhausting. I wear my large uniform to work now because I can't stand to look at myself unless I am swallowed by a t-shirt. How is that any way to live? I have these hopes and dreams for myself, but no ambition. So I am making it for myself.
I will witness the sunrise everyday,
I will run,
I will cherish time with my family,
I will reconnect with my friends,
I will change TODAY,
I will, I will, I will.
Don't let your dreams fall behind. Don't be the roadblock keeping you from what you could be. Don't lose faith in yourself. Don't give up!
You are amazing and you are capable of amazing things! People like you do eye opening and life changing things everyday. DO SOMETHING AMAZING!

Taking a Dip into Confidence

I
made a purchase, a frightening purchase. I usually spend weeks looking for the
perfect bathing suit… I also end up spending way too much on it too. This year,
I’ve only tried a handful and hated them all. The style, the fit, my body,
everything did not belong. I didn’t lose hope, finding this year’s suit has
always proved itself a challenge. I decided to purchase one at a later date.
This didn’t postpone the explosion of swimsuit ads and offers. Then I stumbled
upon the Cupshe Cut to It Shell Swimsuit…
The suit I ultimately chose was from a link on
Pinterest. I purchased it based on a measurement chart and reviews. I decided
on free (super slow) shipping so I’ll have plenty of time to spontaneously
become super hot overnight and the overall quality of the bathing suit will not
phase me. The bathing suit is very affordable and adorable, I just have a few concerns…

Managing to Manage
Monday, March 7, 2016
“She stood in the storm, and
when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.”
I have
found that the best sort of motivation for myself is when I witness others’ success.
Call it jealousy, but it gets me moving. This past week I have truly noticed a
change in myself. I have all the motivation in the world, but the ability to
keep going continues to dwindle. What’s scary about all this? I am gaining
weight. This is the absolute LAST thing I wanted. Granted, Mother Nature is
currently visiting and that has a huge effect on my breakouts, water weight,
mood, etc., but I cannot continue to use that as an excuse to avoid the
gym/Shaun T. I have huge hopes that after midterms pass, I will be able to
focus more on my health. I say this as I am sitting crisscross-applesauce in the
middle of my lecture typing up a quick post for my small dead-end blog instead
of paying attention. I know I am being extremely negative, but I never thought this
was going to be this hard. Before you decide to lose weight, you have occasional
glimmers of confidence where you tell yourself, “Damn girl, you look good!”
while getting ready for your day and having a dance party in your favorite
jeans. I assume once I begin to lose weight, I will have those moments more
often than before, but as of recently, dance party count has been zero.
I keep
telling myself that my problem isn’t my eating habits, I generally eat pretty
healthy. I seem to direct my problems towards my laziness/stress. I could spend
the entire day in University telling myself, “Ooo, I’m gonna go home before
work and take a walk!” or “Ooo, I’m going to run through my Cize program before
getting ready for work!” and on my way home I’ll realize how much homework I
have or how late I will be working and how much sleep I will lose, and skip the
idea all together. My plan? Adjusting my sails. My life is a hurricane right
now and yet losing the weight is still first on my agenda… I just have to find
a way to fit it into my schedule. I’ll have to look at other’s who have managed
to manage their time.
My ex boyfriend’s mother lost about 20-30 pounds
last year and looked amazing. How did she do it? Biking. She rode her bike
virtually everyday… The problem? I don’t know how to ride a bike. Do I want to
learn? Heck yeah! Can you imagine how nice it’ll be to get home and say, “Wow,
ten miles!” Although, I do have a huge fear of falling/looking awkward while
riding. Which I know… That’s ridiculous, but I’ll have to put it behind me
because the outcome is far greater. I guess my next step is finding a bike… How
stressful. Which one is the best? I guess that’s for another day. Funny how I
was convinced this post would be another glooming post about how much of a
slacker I’ve been, but has become my next big sail adjustment.
More Than Pounds Holding Me Down

I am beyond disappointed in myself right now. I completed two consecutive days of the “Cize” program and have yet to continue. It has nothing to do with the intensity of the program, it my own excuses in the way. (Most commonly, "I'm a full time student!", "I'm too tired!", "Work = Exercise!".) I do plan on continuing... But I still hate the idea of failing. I hate the idea of looking in the mirror and thinking, "What's the point?". I hate the idea of being stuck in a one piece AGAIN this summer. I hate the idea of being one day closer to meeting the man I am going to spend the rest of my life with and not looking my best for him.
Do not fear, I AM NOT FINISHED.
I HAVE, however, began eating much, much better. I start practically everyday with an Atkins “Milk Chocolate Delight Shake”. Which I have to admit, I LOVE. Granted, they don’t taste like they came straight out of a Sonic drive through window, but they are still AMAZING. I have noticed a major reduce, if not elimination, of my daily cravings. I have also purchased a loaf of honey wheat bread along with deli slices of chicken breast and a not-so-fatty cheese to make sandwiches instead of grabbing Taco Bell on the way to work everyday. It may not be the best substitution, but it is a much better alternative. These choices along with carrying along my Camelbak filled with water everyday has made a HUGE difference in my sleep habits, ability to retain water, and endurance.
I’m hoping to make a late-night shopping trip tonight and fill my cart with nothing but healthy choices. I know I will need a fruit or something that I can eat along with my shake every morning, more Fiber One bars (YAS), and more deli meat for my sandwiches. Let’s hope I am not tempted by the LAST CHANCE post-Valentine’s Day candy sales and now surfacing Easter candy. Say a prayer for my wandering stomach.
"The End of Exercise"
Thursday, February 18, 2016
One Saturday morning, (Last Saturday morning) I woke
up at around 6:00 am to an infomercial for the super intriguing Cize program.
For those of you who do not know what Cize is, look it up…
Just kidding. ♡
Cize is a workout collection created by Shaun T, the
founder of the infamous INSANITY program. Before Saturday, I had never heard of
Cize nor did I want to pursue it… But that Saturday morning watching those
people having so much fun dancing and working out, I honestly couldn’t take my
eyes off the screen.
Being an early bird, I know how
these infomercials work… They draw you in, appeal to your interests/weaknesses,
and provide you with “unbeatable” deals. (Even though if you continue watching for
an additional five minutes, they will beat the unbeatable) I kept that in mind
and told myself over and over you might
commit to this for a week or two at most,
and, this will sit in your closet for weeks… But before I knew it, I was
dialing that incredibly long 1-800 number.
Spending the money wasn’t painful… Speaking to the
sales person almost caused me to flat line… Our conversation lasted OVER AN
HOUR. I was already sold! Why was she trying to sell me a lifetime warranty for
a package of DVDs? I recall only a few of the many things she offered me…
· Deluxe Package: $75
· (Once I declined…) “Not So
Deluxe” Package: Only an additional $9.95 to my 3 payments
· 30-day supply of some sort of
vitamins $1 + $3.95 shipping & handling
· An ADDITIONAL bottle of vitamins…
(You know, so I NEVER run out) $1 + $3.95
· Lifetime Warranty $3.00
· Shakeology Samples
· Opportunity for a FREE pair of socks (Which probably had shipping and handling as well.)
She kept going over my total, (which ranged from
$19.95 over a span of three months to a single payment of $175), but no matter what
price I agreed to, she continued to present MORE OPTIONS! It was as if she could tell how gullible I was through the
phone. I think next time I order something over the phone, I am just going to
say, “Look, throw away that stupid script… I just want the goods and nothing
more… Kapeesh?”
Granted, I can complain about my experience all I want, but this woman knew how to do her
job.
Anyways, after my EXCRUCIATING interrogation by the super sweet lady
who sold me the program, she provided me with very helpful information and a
customer service number in case I had any additional issues/questions. My grand
total was around $122.69. Which again… I’m not complaining. Who can put a price
on confidence?
MOVING ON, my purpose for bringing this is up simply
because I have received my Cize package and I have been using it since Monday. I
have taken my measurements and starting weight as instructed and also began
eating better. I will be reviewing this program hopefully the entire time I use it. I am
incredibly excited to see what lies in store for me and I have full confidence
in my new workout plan. ♡
